Moody Bible Institute Library


You can get resources and services for your information needs, whether you’re an undergraduate, graduate, or online student. The Moody library uses new technology while supporting and developing traditional information formats like book and print periodical collections.

Henry C. Crowell Library


You’ll also be able to take advantage of dozens of study areas and a peaceful environment where you can sit to complete projects and assignments. Use the collection of hundreds of reference books for papers and presentations.

The Henry C. Crowell Library, funded by the Henry Parsons Crowell and Susan Coleman Crowell Trust, is located on the first and lower levels of The Sweeting Center.

The Crowell Library holds approximately 216,318 items in about 12 collections. Resources include a curriculum lab, juvenile books, main stacks, media and music library, journals, pamphlets and clippings, and reference and reserves.

You can also access 77 electronic resource tools, including online indexes, catalogs, eBooks, eJournals, databases of reference material, and scholarly articles. Some of the more popular resources include:

  • ATLA religion database
  • Counseling and therapy in video
  • eBooks and eLibrary

Moody Theological Seminary in Michigan Library


At the library on Moody’s Michigan campus, you can find the informational material to support your teaching, research, and continuing education needs. The library has more than 75,000 books and 40,000 periodicals.

Take advantage of seating areas to study and complete assignments as you pursue your education. Use meeting spaces to collaborate for group projects with your peers.

Get access to 56 electronic resource tools, including online indexes, catalogs, eBooks, eJournals, databases of scholarly articles and reference material. Some of the more popular resources include:

As an online student or faculty member, sometimes it can be hard to find what you’re looking for at your local library. Through the online Moody library, you can get information services and resources for all your academic needs. The library is committed to providing its users with the resources and services that are essential for their academic needs, regardless of distance or location.

Library Archives


You can schedule an appointment to visit the Moody Bible Institute Archives, and see archival materials about the life and times of Dwight Lyman Moody (Moodyana). Archives collected illustrate the formation, organization, and history of Moody Bible Institute. The Archives, part of the Crowell Library, are located on the lower level of the Sweeting Center on Moody’s Chicago campus.

Some notable holdings include records from Moody ministries (Moody Radio, Education, Moody Publishers, Today in the Word, etc.) and documents from significant events including the Civil War, Chicago fire, evangelistic campaigns in the U.S. and Europe, and biographical material of distinguished Christian witnesses (C. I. Scofield, Spurgeon, and others).
