Spokane Begins Student Ambassadors Program

Some of the biggest fans of Moody Bible Institute in Spokane, Washington, are the students themselves who volunteer their time in the campus's new Ambassador program. The program not only helps prospective students learn about Moody but also benefits the student volunteers.

"By participating as an ambassador, I have gained a deepened sense of identity and pride in my campus and a greater love and connection with prospective students and fellow ambassadors," says Moody ambassador Stephen Angliss [major/year of graduation].

Since March 2013, more than a dozen students have been trained to "share their passion and vision for Moody with other potential students," says RJ Thompson, assistant dean of Recruitment and Marketing, who directs the program. The students take part in giving campus tours, sharing personal testimonies at  Experience Spokane! events, writing postcards to prospective students, and other activities.

The program not only helps prospective and incoming students feel welcome and appreciated but also encourages the ambassadors' spiritual growth and gives opportunities for discipleship. "As ambassadors we have the unique opportunity to touch others with the love of God," says senior ambassador Peter Saiki, [major/year of graduation]. "Personally, I have seen amazing growth in my own life in the areas of servitude and in loving others."
