The Program

With Moody's First-Year Online Program (FYOP)*, you can begin your college career wherever you are. Participate in our Chicago campus curriculum through online and hyflex courses. In this program, you will also benefit from participating in Moody’s first-year online mentoring program. Each FYOP student will be assigned a personal mentor who will help you grow spiritually while developing community with other FYOP students.

You will have the flexibility to study abroad, do missions work, continue in your home church ministries or simply work and save money for the rest of college. FYOP students pay per credit hour for their courses and complete around 30 credit hours in the program. FYOP prepares students to move ahead in their studies, confident that God has called them to serve Him for a lifetime.

PERSONAL MENTORING

In FYOP, personal mentors build a relationship with you and help you define your future ministry goals. Through regular one-on-one meetings, your mentor supports and encourages you as you manage your time and balance school, life, and ministry.

Each mentor helps you decide on a guided ministry experience in your area. Ministry leaders share their experience and help you expand your biblical and practical knowledge.

Your spiritual growth through their guidance will help you immediately impact others for Christ.

An Online Community

FYOP is more than a place where students do coursework online. It’s an active community of learners who share the same goal: to grow in their spirituality and impact the world for Christ.

FYOP students have a unique platform for growing relationships—a more intimate setting than a residential college experience often allows.

They take the same online classes, connect on social media and with other FYOP students in their area, and reflect on ministry experiences in small groups.

As FYOP students move on to the Chicago campus for their second year, they come with an established group of close friends.

An Intentional Ministry Experience

Part of FYOP is a focused ministry experience where you can enhance your skills and impact others for Christ right away. Because of the accessibility and convenience of the program, you’re able to do that in one of two ways:

  • Spread Christ’s message locally: Start your ministry work in your current context to improve your community.
  • Share God’s Word on a global scale: Begin your ministry abroad through a missions trip.

No matter which option you choose, your mentors will help you develop spiritually, biblically and academically.

Automatic Registration

Since all FYOP students follow the same course schedule, Moody staff will automatically register you for each of your courses.

We’ve carefully compiled your schedule to balance the workload through the year and only offer classes that transfer seamlessly into any Moody campus degree program.

Taught by experienced Moody faculty, your courses include topics like: Bible survey, theology, writing, spiritual formation, and Bible study.
